Why we started Cura.

Cura is Latin for care — and the care is the point. We didn't set out to build another detailing business. We set out to fix the one thing that makes people anxious about handing over a car they love: not knowing whether it will come back better, or worse.

What we kept seeing

Every fear people have about detailing is really one fear: can I trust them with it?

Swirl marks ground into the paint by a careless machine. A car dropped at a busy yard and handed to whoever was free. Being talked into a coating you didn't need, at a price that grew once the work had started. A finish that looked brilliant for one weekend and dull by the next.

None of those are really about cleaning. They're about trust — about a person handing over the keys to something they care about and quietly hoping for the best. The more we looked, the more it was clear that the whole market was selling shine, when what people actually wanted was certainty.

What we decided to be

So we built the opposite of the thing people were afraid of.

We stay small on purpose. Cura is two people, not a franchise — so the hands that quote your car are the hands that look after it. We come to you and work in your own driveway, with you nearby, because the safest place for your car is where it already is, in front of its owner.

We price plainly and confirm it before we start. We recommend the smallest job that gets your car right, not the biggest invoice. And we'd rather do one honest stage of correction properly than oversell you three. None of that is a marketing angle — it's just the way we'd want our own cars treated.

    Nothing leaves until both of us would be happy to own it. Two sets of hands, two sets of eyes, one line we won't drop below.

Where we're going

Slowly, and only as far as we can still do it by hand.

We offer detailing and one honest stage of paint correction today, with a membership — the Keepers' Programme — for the cars we see often. Multi-stage correction, ceramic protection and window tinting are planned, and we'll add them only when we can do them to the same standard, not a day sooner.

The goal isn't to be the biggest detailer in Sydney's east. It's to be the one a small number of people genuinely won't let anyone else touch their car but. If that sounds like how you feel about yours, we'd like to look after it.
